Intimacy

Couples in search of a new understanding

“It is better to fear things than be bored by them, and life without love is a long boredom.” (Hanif Kureishi, Intimacy).

Ten couples of various ages, social backgrounds and lifestyles but with one thing in common: over the course of these months of the coronavirus emergency, their relationships, whether long-distance or claustrophobic forced cohabitation, have inevitably been transformed.
Tensions, longings, fears and anxieties for children and for the future, old frictions overcome, new misunderstandings, boredom, finding time to dedicate to shared or individual passions and, for everyone the unique opportunity to grow, both individually and as a couple.

An extraordinary collective depiction of couples’ relationships in the time of coronavirus. Ten stories and ten journeys that illustrate, with the utmost spontaneity, the essence of relationships that have been reimagined, shattered, rebuilt or simply left to take new shape.

“What do any of us really know about love? It seems to me we’re just beginners at love.” Raymond Carver.
