Senegal is proud of its fashion culture and the Dakar fashion week is the most renowned fashion show. Although Senegalese society conforms to patriarchal principles, women have more freedom than in many other Muslim countries. Whether they wear headscarves or veils, wigs or natural hair is up to them. But even if they may be revealing their hair and skin, many Senegalese women are very religious, following the Quran strictly.
