Baraccopolis at Fotografica Bergamo
Starting today, Fotografica Bergamo is hosting “Baraccopolis,” an exhibition by Sergio Ramazzotti that chronicles the invisible Italy of shantytowns, from the regions of the South to the large industrial cities of the Center and North. Some of these slums have existed for decades, one – in Messina, Sicily – for a century. The inhabitants are Italian citizens, but in fact they do not exist and no one knows exactly how many there are.
The exhibition runs at the Monastero del Carmine in Bergamo from Oct. 2 to Nov. 11, 2021.
