Prada, the heroes of Luna Rossa

The goal of the photo campaign by Prada – one of the most influential voices in the luxury industry, a brand that also operates in the eyewear and fragrance sectors – is to tell the story of the new collection’s eyewear, a mix of cutting-edge technology and contemporary aesthetics, with creative imagery: eyewear that performs well in different weather conditions.

The challenges of a boat like Luna Rossa and the courage of its crew inspire the Prada Eyewear LineaRossa 2020 line. Serving as models are the same “new generation” sailors of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team, immortalized during moments of outdoor training and during daily relaxation hours.


Sailing and nature

The photo campaign responds to the need to unite the power of nature and the faces of the sailing world, told through photography inspired by set portraiture.

The location is in Sardinia, in Cagliari, specifically the Luna Rossa team base and the cliffs overlooking the sea of Calamosca, which are the backdrop for the portraits taken of Nicholas Brezzi, Matteo Celon, Umberto Molineris and Enrico Voltolini, all members of the “new generation” Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team.

The shooting sessions begin at dawn, to capture warmer, grazing light during training sessions in Calamosca, and continue in the afternoon by shooting still-life, indoor images and ambient photos in Luna Rossa’s construction sites


The images created were used worldwide for the Prada Eyewear Linea Rossa 2020 campaign in print, web, social/digital media, and in all of the brand’s stores.

Learning from the athletes

Commitment, preparation, and optimism – these are the values one senses while living alongside Luna Rossa sailors at the Cagliari base for three days of intense and exciting shoots.
